– Coach of the fenec foxes has warned that his side can still qualify for the World Cup ahead of Nigeria

Coach of the fennec foxes of Algeria Georges Leekens has stated categorically that Nigeria should not celebrate yet since it is still mathematically possible for his side to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

The tactician insisted that the battle for the sole ticket in CAF Group B is still far from decided.

Nigeria is the only side with victories in Group B with Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria failing to amass maximum points after their opening two games in the section.

“As long as it remains mathematically possible (for Algeria to qualify) we will continue to fight and I also don’t think Nigeria can start celebrating yet because there are still four more games to play,” he raved.

“The manner of our defeat against Nigeria fills me with confidence because we created many chances against them.

“Giving up is not in my nature so there is no way we will give up with so many matches to play,” Leekens said.

Meanwhile, the Cameroon Football Federation have targeted two successive wins over Nigeria when they face in their 2018 World Cup qualifying games in 2017.

The indomitable lions are second on the table having secured two points from two games while Nigeria have a maximum six points from two games.
