A man showed his savage side last Saturday when he dragged a middle-aged woman out of her gray coloured Toyota saloon car and butchered the woman (name withheld) in a most gruesome way at Agbor, Ika South local government area of Delta state.
The suspect identified as Sunny, has been detained by the police after he killed the victim around Agbor-Sakponba Road. He is said to have ambushed her while she was on her way to a burial ceremony at Oki on the fateful day. Even though the victim shouted for help, it came too late as her assailant slaughtered her in the worst of ways.
According to a source, “The murderer was so callous. The suspect used cutlass to cut her ear, stomach, buttocks, back, laps and spread her legs on the road, exposing her private part. We have never seen a thing like this before”.
The source disclosed that the victim’s cry for help attracted a mob but it was too late as the victim was lifeless. “When the mob gathered and saw the lifeless woman in the pool of her blood, they attacked the assailant who was still holding his blood stained cutlass. They even broke his head before the police came and took him away,” the source said, adding that, the intervention of policemen saved the assailant from being killed by angry mob.
DSP Celestina Kalu, the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, said her office was yet to receive any report on the incident.
